Secondary Containment Systems
Made of Steel
Companies and farms that have tanks holding
oil, gas, agrochemicals, or liquid fertilizers must, according
to Environmental Protection Agency regulations, provide secondary
containment surrounding the tanks that can contain the entire
spill volume and confine it until clean-up can be performed.
Secondary containment is simply defined
as "a container or structural barrier (such as galvanized steel
or a bermed area of coated concrete) that is placed under or around
a vessel to capture spills or leaks from the primary containment."

What are some of the advantages of using Brock's
galvanized steel containment systems?
First and foremost, you'll save money
in both the short term and the long term. Their galvanized steel
systems are weather-resistant, require virtually no maintenance,
and are resistant to wind and water erosion.
Second, you can feel confident that Maple
Grove Enterprises has the expertise to correctly install your
new containment system. We not only have experience in building
and repairing containment systems, but also in millwrighting and
metal fabrication. We can provide your company with all the services
you require for all of your containment needs.
How are Brock's containment systems constructed?
What other special features do Brock systems
provide?
 |
- They use special seam sealant
that is resistant to petroleum products and contains nylon
spacer beads. These beads, a Brock innovation, keep the
sealant in place during construction for durable, long-lasting
seams.
- They use an alternating bolt
pattern featuring grade #8.2 bolts with special JS-500
weather-resistant coating, so their bolts never rust.
|
How thick are the walls?
Their galvanized steel walls come in four
thicknesses: 10 gauge, 12 gauge, 14 gauge, and 15 gauge. The most
popular thickness is 12 gauge, the industry standard.
What configurations to the systems come in?
Brock provides four different configurations
that will suit any need: round, square, rectangle or oblong, as
well as three different sidewall heights: 22", 36", and 44".
Our company already has concrete secondary
containment. Can we use galvanized steel when we need to expand?
Absolutely. Maple Grove Enterprises can
attach a Brock galvanized steel system to nearly any existing
secondary containment system.
We have only one small tank. Would a galvanized
steel system meet our needs?
Yes. Brock offers flexible configurations
and cost-effective solutions, making them the best choice for
even the smallest secondary containment system.
